Hello,
You may have seen that some minor clearance and levelling works have taken place at Jubilee Gardens over the last couple of weeks.
Following the consultation late last year, the planting designs shared were tweaked to take on board comments, and a final design was agreed. This phase of works is very much focussed on installation of additional planting that will encourage more wildlife to the space, but we are keen to develop a long term strategy, and management plan for the space so please get involved if you are interested moving forward – I have attached the planting design, completed by local resident Blake, from Raleigh Road, and supported by Transition Leytonstone.
Meristem have been contracted to deliver all heavy works, and there is some planting remaining ready for the local community to install.
Please head down to Jubilee Gardens on Friday 29 April, between 2pm-4pm if you have some time to help out, or even if you would just like to come along and see what’s happening. Blake, Transition Leytonstone and council officers will all be there.
Just as a side note, we over ordered on Wild Strawberries, so will have some to give away on the day – first come, first serve!
Hope to see you there,
Best wishes,
Katie
